UPSC Prelims PYQ — Year-wise Archive (2013–2026)

This page contains the complete year-wise collection of UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination Previous Year Questions from 2013 to 2026. For each year, three resources are available for both GS Paper I (General Studies) and CSAT Paper II: a detailed Q&A & Analysis document by Legacy IAS Academy faculty, the official UPSC question paper, and the official UPSC answer key.

How to use: Use year-wise papers as timed full mocks in the last 2–3 months. Start with the most recent 3 years (2023–2026) to understand current trends, then go back systematically. Do not start year-wise mocks at the beginning of preparation — study subjects first, then test with full papers.

GS Paper I

CSAT Paper II
80 MCQs · 200 marks · 2 hrs · Qualifying (33%)

Frequently Asked Questions

Legacy IAS Academy provides UPSC Prelims year-wise question papers from 2013 to 2025. Each year includes GS Paper I and CSAT Paper II with three resources: detailed Q&A and analysis, the official UPSC question paper PDF, and the official UPSC answer key — all free to access.
UPSC Prelims GS Paper I has 100 multiple-choice questions for 200 marks. Each correct answer gives 2 marks. Each wrong answer deducts 0.66 marks (1/3 negative marking). Unattempted questions carry no penalty.
CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test) is GS Paper II of UPSC Prelims with 80 questions for 200 marks. It tests comprehension, logical reasoning, and basic numeracy. CSAT is qualifying — you only need 33% (66 marks). Marks do not count toward merit, but failing CSAT disqualifies you regardless of your GS Paper I score.
Use year-wise PYQs in the last 2–3 months of preparation. Attempt each year's paper as a timed full mock (2 hours, 100 questions). After each mock, read the analysis for every question — correct and incorrect. Track subject-wise accuracy to find weak areas. Repeat the most recent 5 years at least twice. Use subject-wise PYQs earlier in preparation.
The expected UPSC Prelims 2025 General category cutoff is approximately 90–100 marks out of 200, based on the paper's difficulty and previous year trends. The 2024 cutoff was 98.21 marks. The official cutoff is declared by UPSC after Mains results.
