Overview of INS Kiltan

  • Type: Indigenously-built anti-submarine warfare stealth corvette.
  • Class: Third of four Kamorta-class corvettes constructed under Project 28.
  • Name Origin: Named after one of the islands in the Aminidivi group, part of the strategically important Lakshadweep and Minicoy group of islands.
  • Design & Construction: Designed by the Indian Navy’s Directorate of Naval Design and built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (GRSE) in Kolkata.
