United Nations Mission in Liberia Country: Liberia
Period: September 2003 – March 2018
Established by SC Resolution 1509 (2003) after President Charles Taylor’s resignation. Supported the ceasefire agreement, peace process, and security reform following Liberia’s Second Civil War. One of the longest-running UN peacekeeping missions. India was a major troop contributor.
B — MINURCAT 1 · 2007–2010
United Nations Mission in the Central African Republic and Chad Countries: Chad + Central African Republic
Period: September 2007 – December 2010
Established to protect civilians, promote human rights and rule of law in eastern Chad and NE Central African Republic. Closed at Chad government’s request, which pledged full responsibility for civilian protection.
C — MINUSTAH 4 · 2004–2017
United Nations Stabilization Mission in Haiti Country: Haiti
Period: June 2004 – October 2017
Established after the February 2004 armed conflict in Haiti. Took over from Multinational Interim Force (MIF). Supported constitutional political process and stability. Remained active through the 2010 earthquake response. Succeeded by MINUJUSTH (2017).
D — UNMISET 2 · 2002–2005
United Nations Mission of Support in East Timor Country: East Timor (Timor-Leste)
Period: May 2002 – May 2005
Established on 20 May 2002 — the day East Timor became independent from Indonesia — as the successor to UNTAET. Provided assistance until operational responsibilities were fully devolved to local Timorese authorities. Successfully completed its mandate in May 2005.

MINUSTAH = Haiti, 2004–2017: MINU-STAH = STABilisation HAiti. 13 years including the 2010 earthquake. Succeeded by MINUJUSTH. Started just after Haiti’s February 2004 crisis.
