Memory Trick
🧠 India Semiconductor Plants — State-wise Memory
Gujarat = Semiconductor capital (4 plants): Micron (Sanand) + Tata Fab (Dholera) + CG Power-Renesas (Sanand) + Kaynes (Sanand). Sanand has 3 plants, Dholera has 1. Gujarat leads India’s semiconductor push.
HCL-Foxconn = Jewar, UP (NOT MP): Madhya Pradesh has no semiconductor plant. HCL-Foxconn is at Jewar (near Noida, Greater Noida area) in Uttar Pradesh. “Jewar = UP.” Foundation stone was laid by PM Modi virtually on 21 February 2026.
Tata OSAT = Assam (Morigaon): Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test = Assam. ₹27,000 crore. This is separate from Tata Electronics’ fab in Dholera, Gujarat (which is the wafer fabrication facility).
SiCSem = Odisha: Silicon Carbide semiconductor = Odisha. Part of 4 new units approved in August 2025. Two plants in Odisha, one each in Punjab and Andhra Pradesh. SiC chips are for EVs, renewable energy, and industrial use.
