Paper Structure & Pattern Note

GS Paper V is the UP Special Paper — every question is anchored to Uttar Pradesh. Section A has 10 short-answer questions (125 words, 8 marks each) and Section B has 10 long-answer questions (200 words, 12 marks each). Since the 2023 restructuring (removal of Optional), this paper carries heightened importance.
