Recently, India-Kyrgyzstan Joint Special Forces Exercise KHANJAR has commenced at the Special Forces Training School in Bakloh, Himachal Pradesh.

Exercise Khanjar:

  • Inception: Exercise Khanjar had its inaugural edition in December 2011, marking the initiation of a collaborative venture between India and Kyrgyzstan in the realm of Special Forces training.
  • 11th Edition: The current iteration represents the 11th edition of the India-Kyrgyzstan Joint Special Forces Exercise, highlighting the enduring nature of this annual event.
Participant Details:
  • Indian Army Contingent: Comprising 20 personnel, the Indian Army contingent is represented by elite troops from The Parachute Regiment (Special Forces).
  • Kyrgyzstan Contingent: Also consisting of 20 personnel, the Kyrgyzstan contingent is represented by troops from the Scorpion Brigade.
Objective:
  • Focus Areas: The primary aim of Exercise Khanjar is to facilitate the exchange of experiences and best practices specifically in Counter-Terrorism and Special Forces Operations. These operations will be conducted in both Built-up Areas and Mountainous Terrain.
